Nestled in the woods north of Jefferson, Tex. lies one of the newest attractions of 2019. Lonesome Dove Drive-Thru Safari park hosts over 75 exotic animals. Drive through the preserve and see bison, zebras, Longhorn cattle, wildebeest, zebus, camels and many species of deer and antelope.

One of two camels you will encounter.

Spend an hour or two driving along the trail for some great photo opportunities (stay in your car). If you want, purchase a bucket of feed and some of the wildlife will approach your vehicle. The staff will tell you the best way of feeding the animals.

Recognize a Bashinga Deer by its ears.

After the drive, stop and visit the petting farm. Let the kids interact with a pot-bellied pig, a camel, an alpaca and pygmy goats.

Know before you go!

Lonesome Dove Drive-Thru Safari has some ground rules to keep you and the animals safe.
