At this point, it certainly seems as if society will end with a zombie apocalypse. The big question, of course, will you be surviving it?
According to CableTV.com, it appears some folks will be better off than others when stuff hits the fan.
The company delved into the macabre reality of who in America will be left after the undead hordes have their way with us.
Turns out, most of the Ark-La-Tex might not survive a zombie apocalypse. Especially Louisiana.

Apparently, the most survivable area of the US is the Midwest thanks primarily to its widespread food production.
Cable TV pulled data on self-reliance through agriculture, weapon ownership, solar energy, and climate to find the best place to survive the apocalypse.
You’re lucky if you already live in a Zone 1 state. Arkansas does well at No. 14. Oklahoma is No. 21. Texas ranks No. 30 on the survivability list while Louisiana came in at No. 32 (wonder why New Orleans).
Areas you really should avoid are most of New England.
Prepare Now
No matter where you live, you might want to prep your bug-out bag.

That’s the advice from the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency.
Start with an emergency kit.
It’ll cover you on a lot of bases: a zombie apocalypse, a tornado, flooding, or a pandemic.
Your bag should most definitely include:
- Water (1 gallon per person per day)
- Non-perishable food items you eat regularly
- Medications, especially prescriptions
- Tools and Supplies (utility knife, duct tape, battery powered radio, etc.)
- Sanitation and Hygiene (household bleach, soap, towels, etc.)
- Clothing and Bedding (a change of clothes for each family member and blankets)
- Important documents (copies of your driver’s license, passport, and birth certificate to name a few)
- First Aid supplies (although you’re a goner if a zombie bites you, you can use these supplies to treat basic cuts and lacerations.)
In the event of a zombie apocalypse, these items should get you through the first couple of days before you can find a refugee camp.
It will also by you some time if a natural disaster strikes.

Once you’ve made an emergency kit, you’ll want to come up with some sort of plan that includes where you would go and who you would call if zombies started appearing outside your doorstep.
Even better: this same plan can be used if there is a flood, earthquake, or other emergencies like hurricanes.
