When you think of pizza, you usually go to the standard pies: cheese, pepperoni, meat lovers, veggie, etc. Of course, there are many more flavor combinations out there and even a few slices that are out there. One that caught our attention recently turns out to be pretty tasty. Dough Boys Pizza in Waskom and their newest location in Bossier City lists on their menu a Pickle Pizza. So we had to go ask them all about it.

This pickle pizza is not your run-of-the-mill pizza Pickles + Ranch + 5 cheeses = Yummy!

The recipe is super simple: pizza crust, ranch dressing, five types of cheeses, hamburger pickles, Italian seasoning, garlic spray for the outer crust, and more ranch dressing. Owner Jess Matson loves to create pizzas that will get people talking. Referring to the Pickle Pizza, he says “People love it. I don’t understand it, but people love it!” In the past, he partnered with Uneeda Taco for a burrito pizza. Coming very soon is a cricket pizza.

Dough Boys pizza started as a food truck in Bethany, La. After attending several Bossier Night Markets and Bossier Farmers Market, they settled down in Waskom, Tex. Because of the love from patrons in Bossier City, Matson worked hard and now has a brick and mortar location inside the food court at Pierre Bossier Mall. “It’s a comfort food that everyone likes,” says Matson.

For those looking for a more ‘standard’ pizza. the Bossier Bomber is every topping that Dough Boys Pizza has. Matson says that is a ten pound pizza with lots of pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, bacon, pineapple, jalapenos, sausage, Canadian Bacon, banana peppers and five cheeses.
