SHREVEPORT, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - Prize Foundation announced the lineup for the participating taquerias for Taco Wars 2023 and it looks to be a very competitive field. Taco Wars takes place on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from Noon until 8 p.m. outside the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.
Here’s who is up for the Golden Taco (Best Taco) and Golden Molcajete (Best Salsa)

Admission is free to walk around and sample the chips and salsa. Tickets will be needed to purchase food and drinks. Tickets are $1 each.
Lines can get pretty long for the tacos and drinks. You might think about getting a VIP package. It includes six Golden Taco Tickets good for any taco, regardless of the price, one Golden Margarita Ticket for one margarita, entry into the exclusive VIP lounge, and very important, access to the Taco Fast Lane for the Golden Taco Tickets.

While waiting and eating tacos, enjoy the live performances by DJ Briant Garcia, Groupo ReMiFa and Los Rancheritos.
You can vote for the Best Salsa and a group of celebrity taco aficionados will judge the Golden Taco. To drink, choose from Coca-Cola products, Modelo beers, Maestro Dobel margaritas and the Casa de Tequila experience.
From their press release, “Taco Wars celebrates Latino culture, and it features one of the most amazing foods on the planet,” said Gregory Kallenberg. “That said, my hope is that everyone comes down to this unique festival to connect and eat together as one community united under our common love for the mighty taco.”
