All you have to do is take a short drive to the R.W. Norton Art Gallery in central Shreveport. Two new shows are opening up on June 1, 2023 that the whole family will enjoy.
Of Sea and Shore
From their website, “Artists throughout history have been inspired by the sea and its endless rhythms and mysteries. This summer, featuring beautiful beach scenes, dramatic seascapes, ships, marine life, and more, please join us for our summertime exhibition, Of Sea and Shore.”
Squiggle Party: A Doodle Experience Guest Curated by Kirk Reedstrom
Kirk Reedstrom is known for his children’s book and doodle art who lives in Shreveport. After studying at Centenary College and William Joyce at Moonbot Studios, he found his love of simple scribbling. Now he’s curated an interactive art exhibit for the summer. Not only will you see his cure and fun art but you could add your own doodles and squiggles to the mix.
Attend the opening reception on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to see both exhibitions and meet Kirk. Admission is free with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages available. Both shows end on August 3, 2023.
