BOSSIER CITY, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - Every year, the Bossier Arts Council (BAC) puts on an incredible fundraiser called ARTini. For it’s 13th edition, ARTini is taking a retro 80s feel for this competition of restaurants and mixologists to see who has the best martini. Attendees have the chance to sample over 20 creative martinis. Some memorable flavors from the past include Muffuletta, Smoke-infused coffee, Red Hots, BBQ, Chocolate Cake Mint, Puff Pastry (infused with vodka cream), and a fruity martini with dry ice. Absolut supplies the vodka but everything after that is up to the drink maker. Everyone will be given an ‘olive’ to vote for the People’s Choice award. Additional awards include the Judges Choice and the Most M’artisanal (most creative). Alongside the drinks, there will be food, music and colorful artwork from Paige Powell. She will be showing brand new art.

This year the event will be held at Louisiana Downs. Tickets have sold out for this event but there is a way you can still support the Bossier Arts Council. Stop by their offices at 630 Barksdale Blvd. in Bossier City or call 318-741-8310 and collect the ARTini book. Inside, you will find the winning recipes from previous shows and more.

The money ARTini generates for the BAC goes towards student art in Bossier Parish, upkeep for the Bossier Arts Council galleries and theater, and to provide free shows for local artists every few months and improving Bossier City and Bossier Parish with art.
