Green with Envy Martini

Green with Envy Martini Recipe

BOSSIER CITY, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - One of the most exciting events in Bossier City every year is ARTini by the Bossier Arts Council. Every year, mixologists come together for this fundraiser for the Bossier Arts Council. One of the categories is Most M’Artisinal which highlights the creativity of a new (and sometimes wild) martini. Two time winner Peter Lyons shared with us his 2023 entry... Green with Envy.

Ingredients

2 oz. lime infused vodka (need 2 limes)

1 oz. ginger simple syrup (1 cup of sugar + 1 cup of water + 1 Tbsp. of ginger)

2 1/4 slices of jalapeno (seeded)

1 oz. fresh lime juice

Ice

1 oz. Seltzer water (optional)

Directions

Peel the skins off of 1 1/2 limes. Place lime skins in vodka to infuse. Let infuse for 5-7 days before removing limes and strain vodka. To make the ginger simple syrup, combine water and sugar in a small pan. Slice ginger. Heat water/sugar to boil. Add ginger slices. Let cook for a minute. Remove from heat and allow it to fall to room temperature. Strain liquid.

Muddle jalapenos with the lime juice into a shaker. Add simple syrup and vodka. Add Seltzer water if you want. Fill with ice and shake. Strain out the martini. Serve.

Peter says “this is a perfect way to enjoy a refreshing beverage this summer.”

The heat from this drink will go well with this Angelic Cake for the warm days and nights.
