SHREVEPORT, La. (Arklatex Today) - As an artist, Linda Moss captures both emotion and the beauty of nature with color that exudes feelings of magic.

On Jan. 23, at 1 p.m., at The Agora Borealis, 421 Lake Street, a Shreveport-local art and maker boutique, will be showcasing the Shreveport artist Linda Moss.

Moss’ work experiments successfully with color and contrast, inspired by nature and guided by emotions. Her work uses colors in ways that are not only pleasant together for the mind when viewing but also guides the viewers’ eyes across her paintings with all of their intricate details.

Moss was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and grew up south of Natchitoches. She studied art at Northwestern State University. She went on to experience life in Texas, Arkansas, and North Carolina before returning home to Louisiana.

She experiments with different acrylic techniques and oftentimes adds elements such as paper, fabric, and found objects.

“I really enjoy playing with color and texture. I work with acrylic primarily, sometimes in combination with found objects and bits of refuse. I usually question if I can make art with something before throwing it out,” says Linda Moss. “Emotions play a huge part in my inspiration, as does nature. I believe that inspiration can come from almost anything and art is most certainly in the eye of the beholder.”
