SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Downtown Shreveport will be busy this weekend with not just one but two fun-filled events!
The 318 Day Festival and Paddy in the Plaza are happening Saturday, March 16 for several hours. The 318 Day Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Caddo Common Park, located at 880 Texas Ave.
The daylong event will celebrate the area’s culture, music, art and food. There will be food trucks, activities for kids and live performances. This year’s event also includes a fashion show.
“You can also expect an amazing fashion show from designer Tasha, who has traveled the world, who has been on ‘Project Runway’ and also has designed for celebrities like Kanye West and Laverne Cox,” said 318 Day Festival organizer Billy Anderson.
Paddy in the Plaza will be from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Festival Plaza, located at 101 Crockett St.

An organizer at Paddy in the Plaza tells KSLA how they are trying to bring St. Patrick’s Day back to life.
“Well, we did not have a St. Patrick’s Day event, and Townsquare Media used to. And then they did not bring it back up after COVID, and so we picked it up,” said Terri Mathews, executive director of Downtown Shreveport Unlimited.
Events like these not only bring the community together, but they also create a space for local businesses.
“This is the second year it’s been back, and we had a really great turnout last year. We got good bands this year. We should have a better turnout this year,” said the special event manager at Glazer’s Beer and Beverages.
The organizers also want to encourage the community to visit both events. Both the 318 Day Festival and Paddy in the Plaza are family friendly.
