SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport’s biggest geeky convention returns for 2024, offering a fun weekend for movie, comic, game and sports fans.
On Aug. 16-18, Geek’d Con returns to the Shreveport Convention Center with hundreds of vendor booths and dozens of celebrity guests. Fans from all over the United States pour into the convention center to immerse themselves in geek culture and fandoms.

Guest lineup:
- “Scrubs” star John C. McGinley, who is best known for his role as Dr. Perry Cox in the Peabody and Emmy Award-winning show “Scrubs.” He also starred as the title character in the series “Stan Against Evil.” His other TV roles include appearances in “Chicago PD,” “Burn Notice,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “WordGirl,” “The Boondocks,” “Dan Vs” and “The Practice.”
- Steve Downes, who is best known as the voice of Master Chief from the Halo video game franchise.
- Billy Zane, who is known for his roles as Caledon Hockley in James Cameron’s epic “Titanic, “1996 summer blockbuster “The Phantom,” “Back to the Future,” “Twins Peaks,” villain Ansem in the 2002 video game “Kingdom Hearts,” “Tombstone,” “Demon Knight,” “The Boys,” “Charmed,” “Zoolander,” “Dead Calm,” “Critters,” “Memphis Belle” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”
- Kevin Durand - 2024 has been a big year for Durand. He starred in two wildly successful films, playing the lead antagonist, Proximus Caesar, in “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” as well as Peter in the horror hit “Abigail.” His comic book credentials include playing The Blob in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and Floronic Man in DC Universe’s “Swamp Thing.”
- Henry Thomas, who is known for his roles in “E.T.”, “Pet Semetary: Bloodlines,” “The Last Ride” (where he played Hank Williams Sr.), “Cloak & Dagger,” “Fire in the Sky,” “Legends of the Fall,” “Suicide Kings,” “All the Pretty Horses,” “Gangs of New York” and “Dear John.”
- Dee Wallace, who is known for her starring roles in several horror films, including “The Hills Have Eyes” (1977), “The Howling” (1981), “Cujo” (1983), “Critters” (1986), and “The Frighteners” (1996).
- Mitch Pileggi, who is known for his roles in “Sons of Anarchy,” “Stargate Atlantis,” “Dallas,” “Walker” and “Supernatural.”
- David Morrissey, who is known for his roles as the Governor in “The Walking Dead” and as Jackson Lake in “Doctor Who” and for his roles in “The Reaping,” “State of Play,” “The Deal,” “Britannia,” “Extant,” “Basic Instinct 2″ and many, many more!
- Annabeth Gish - She was the lead in “The X-Files” as Special Agent Monica Reyes. She also acted in “Mayfair Witches,” “Succession,” “Barry,” “The Haunting of Hill House,” “Midnight Mass,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “The West Wing,” “Sons of Anarchy,” “SLC Punk,” “Nixon,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Wyatt Earp,” “The Bridge,” “Halt and Catch Fire,” “Brotherhood,” “Shag” and the superhero movie “Steel.”
- Efren Ramirez, who has appeared in “Napoleon Dynamite,” “The Pool Boys,” “School Dance,” “Mad Families,” “Walkout,” “Perpetual Grace LTD” and “Employee of the Month” and has voiced Airman Diaz in the 2022 Disney-Pixar film “Lightyear.” He also is a successful DJ.
- Kerr Smith, who is best known for his role as Jack McPhee in “Dawson’s Creek” and also known for “Final Destination,” “My Bloody Valentine 3D,” “Charmed,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Riverdale,” “CSI NY,” “Justice,” “Life Unexpected,” “E-Ring” and “The Fosters.”
- Dana Delorenzo, who is known for “Ash vs Evil Dead,” “Evil Dead: The Game,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Californication,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Will & Grace,” “Tacoma FD,” “Barely Famous,” “Workaholics,” “Perpetual Grace LTD” and more.
- Barry Hanley - MCU projects, “Olympus has Fallen.”
- Francois Petit, who is best known to fans as Sub-Zero in the 1995 movie “Mortal Kombat,” where he played the iconic video game character to perfection. It was the first time we got to see Sub-Zero in live action.
- Josh Martin - Majin Buu and roles in “My Hero Academia,” “Attack on Titan,” “Barney and Friends.” He is a 318 local who hails from Haughton, La.
- John Swasey - He voiced the main villain All for One in “My Hero Academia” over the first six seasons of the show. In addition, he’s voiced the character in video games as well. Beyond “MHA,” Swasey’s roles include Gendo Ikari in the “Rebuild of Evangelion” films, Sir Crocodile in the Funimation dub of “One Piece,” Lord Death in “Soul Eater” and Van Hohenheim in “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.”
- Lindsay Seidel, who voices Nejire Hado, a member of The Big 3, in “My Hero Academia.” She’s voiced the role in the series and video games. Some of her other roles include Pochita in “Chainsaw Man,” Gabi Braun in the final season of “Attack on Titan,” Ichika Nakano in “The Quintessential Quintuplets” series and movie, Sorano Agria in “Fairy Tail,” Belfast in “Azur Lane,” Vanica Zogratis in “Black Clover,” Maya Fey in the “Ace Attorney” TV series and Nagisa Shiota in “Assassination Classroom.”
- Katelyn Barr - You probably know her best for voicing characters like Ryuko “Ryukyu” Tatsuma in “My Hero Academia,” Himeno in “Chainsaw Man,” Baby 5 in “One Piece” and Nikki Hanada in “Dr. Stone.”
- Cris George, who is probably best known as the voice of Rikido Sato in “Death Arms” and Gigantomachia in “My Hero Academia” or Bepo in “One Piece.”
