SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Humor & Harmony drew people from all over the country to Downtown Shreveport’s Red River District and filled the city with a new hopeful outlook as local businesses benefit.
In the early morning hours of August 11, during the 50 Cent’s Humor & Harmony festival, the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) announced that the Red River District was closed for entry due to it having reached maximum capacity.
Additionally, the dome was also sold out and at full capacity.
“Please avoid the areas as we work to keep the major thoroughfares open. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation,” said SPD at the time.
Humor & Harmony Weekend has overall been very successful as crowds packed under the bridge in the Red River District to enjoy the pop-up restaurant, vendors, and events throughout the night. Shreveport businesses saw tons of support during the weekend, like Pop N Pizza, which sold out.
“Waking up this morning reflecting on the busy weekend we’ve had. We are so grateful for the support, opportunities, and the love you show Pop N Pizza continually,” said Brittani Shabazz, owner of Pop N Pizza, on Facebook.
