City leaders are excited about the new businesses in town.

“I have already eaten at Ono’s, and I can tell you the food is fantastic. I’ll probably be here more as a lunch customer just because I end up with commitments at night, but I’m looking forward to coming over here once a week or so,” Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux said.

Dozens of people attended the ribbon cutting ceremonies. It’s a moment Maumalanga says felt surreal.

“It was 8 years of running a food truck and learning and learning then meeting the right mentors on the way.”
