SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - 50 Cent FaceTimed Shreveport’s mayor to witness the signing of G-Unit’s lease for StageWorks.

On June 6, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was in rehearsal in Germany when he jumped off stage and FaceTimed Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux to witness the signing of G-Unit’s new lease for StageWorks in downtown Shreveport. According to the city of Shreveport’s Facebook page, this is the official start of 50 Cent’s major investment in the city.

“This is more than a contract—it’s the beginning of jobs, opportunity, and an exciting future for Shreveport’s film and entertainment industry. We’re honored to welcome G-Unit to our city. Let’s get to work,” says the City of Shreveport Government Facebook page.

The lease was approved by the City Council on March 25. 50 Cent made a brief appearance to speak with the council ahead of the vote.
