SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A Tony-winning classic promises big laughs, big romance, and a toe-tapping musical performance on the stage of Shreveport Little Theatre.

Starting on July 17, the Shreveport Little Theatre will begin its first production of its 104th Main Stage season with the comedy Guys and Dolls.

Featuring music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls has been hailed by critics as the “perfect musical comedy”.

Guys and Dolls is a Tony-winning classic that takes audiences on a dazzling ride through the streets of 1950s New York City, where gamblers, showgirls, and missionaries cross paths.

Suave gambler Sky Masterson, played by Adam Philley, bets he can win the heart of prim-and-proper missionary Sarah Brown, played by Tessa VanderKuy, and the odds are anything but predictable.

Lovable schemer Nathan Detroit, played by Jason Coffel, tries to finally say ‘I do’ to his ever-patient fiancée, Miss Adelaide, played by Heather Roan.

The play features timeless tunes and is a toe-tapping crowd pleaser that promises big laughs, big romance, and even bigger talent.

Guys and Dolls is directed and choreographed by Laura Beeman Nugent, with assistant director Kaelon Gerard and music director Adam Philley. Eddie Carney will conduct the musical with Lela Robichaux serving as Production Stage Manager. The creative production team includes Set Design by David White, Costume Design by Kimberli Condon, Lighting Design by Julie Edwards, Sound Design by Zach Doucet, Properties Design by Jason Coffel and Set Construction by Jade Dishman & Eugen Crook.

Guys and Dolls will run for two weekends, starting July 17 with performances on the 18, 19, 25, and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and July 20, 26, and 27 at 2 p.m.
